Alexander worshipped the Greek pantheon and demanded divine worship for himself.

"Until he reached the setting of the sun" (18:86)

Cyrus's empire stretched to the Mediterranean Sea, the furthest west known to his world.

Unto the Rising of the Sun

"Until he reached the rising of the sun" (18:90)

His dominion extended eastward to the steppes of Central Asia, where the sun first breaks the horizon.

A People Scarcely Understood

"Bring me blocks of iron. Then when he had leveled between the two mountains, he said: Blow! Until he made it as fire, he said: Pour molten copper over it" (18:96)

Iron and copper forged into an impenetrable barrier.

So They Could Not Scale It

"So they could not scale it, nor could they pierce through it" (18:97)

The wall stood between two mountains, an eternal testament to divine mercy.

Dhul-Qarnayn: The Two-Horned One

"The ram which you saw with the two horns represents the kings of Media and Persia" (Daniel 8:20)

Cyrus united two kingdoms under one crown: the true two-horned king.
